WHOEVER invented Irish dancing could never have foreseen that it would one day be staged anywhere more "showbiz" than a village barn.

But thanks to the unnaturally tanned but exceptionally talented Michael Flatley, Irish dance groups are now big business - and you can see one of them performing at The Mayflower, Southampton, next month.

One World, described by one critic as "Irish dance meets Broadway", will be whipping audiences into a fever of dance-induced excitement when they call in at the theatre.

Created by the same award-winning team that brought previous Irish dance extravaganza Spirit Of The Dance to The Mayflower, One World is packed with show-stopping dance routines, vibrant dances and beautiful love songs.

But One World - billed as a "thrilling tour of the world of dance" - takes in more than just the familiar Irish dance strain.

In true Eurovision style, they turn their talents to almost every other conceivable world dance style, including tap, ballroom, flamenco, salsa and tango. One World is at The Mayflower from February 14 to 17. For tickets and information, call the box office on 023 8071 1811.
