AN interactive website has been launched to find the UK's fittest man and woman - with the site masterminded by Fareham-based Interweb.

Fitness fanatics are being urged to log onto www.gymtrack.co.uk for a range of interactive services, and to enter The X Zone, Europe's largest cross-training challenge.

Hundred of entrants will be selected to compete in front of viewers of the high profile television programme The X Zone, which will be broadcast in June on national television. There is £17,000 in prize money for with the potential of qualifying for a Global version of the competition in 2002.

The company behind the development of the site has spent the past eight months bringing Gymtrack's vision to life, and Interweb's managing director, Chris Mattingly, said the highly-skilled programmers had created an impressive site.

"Customers expect to be able to do more on the web than in the early days, and thanks to our highly-skilled programmers we are keen to help our clients provide all the facilities the public are looking for,'' he said

"The site offers an incredible range of services for gym- goers, where individuals can input their own data and track and monitor their progress, compare their performances to those of world- class athletes, get advice from leading trainers and experts and communicate with other enthusiasts."
