HAMBLE SAC: With all the matches completed for the current season, Colin Searles has become the new beach champion with 289 points, followed by Tony Spridgeon and Greg Nolan with 274 and 258 points respectively. Danny Nolan won the junior section with 60 points, he also had the best fish of the series in the shape of a 1lb 11oz flounder.

On the boats Tony Spridgeon is the new top rod with 1053 points followed by Colin Searles 1028, Terry Coleman 806, Rob Shattock 628 and Keith Coleman 623. The three best specimen for the season were a 25lb ling for Rod Shattock, a 13lb 10oz pollack for Ray Ashby and a 13lb 5oz spurdog for Terry Coleman. The three heaviest were all conger, with Rob Shattock boating one of 35lb, while Colin Searles landed conger of 25lb 8oz & 22lb 4oz.

SOUTHAMPTON SAC: An evening shallow boat fixture produced a mixed haul of cod, dogfish and pout with Andy Gunn coming out on top with four fish weighing 13lb. Included in his catch was an 11lb 4oz cod which was the heaviest fish. Others: 2nd Alan Hayball 9lb 3oz, 3rd Richard Saunders 6lb 14oz, 4th Chris Barnes 4lb 4oz.

ESSO SAC: The first championship fixture of the season held at Hythe produced a won for Rob Brinsdon with 4 flounders weighing 4lb 1.40oz, his catch included a 1lb 13.50oz flattie which was the heaviest fish. Others 2nd Ida Owen 1lb 8oz, 3rd Sian Rowland 1lb 6.50oz, 4th Alan Rowland 1lb 4oz, 5th Chris Wheeler 1lb 0.50oz, 6th John Owen 15.57oz.

ELMORE SAC: A roving shore fixture which attracted 30 members provided some excellent sport with Simon Edwards winning the event with 13 flounders weighing a very healthy 16lb 1oz. Nigel Gill was the runner-up with 10 flatties for 12ln 3.50oz followed by Danny Brind with 8 flounders for 9lb 5oz. The heaviest fish was a 3lb 7.50oz bass apprehended by Brian Bennett.

MARDEN EDWARDS SAC: The Evening Hill section of Poole harbour was the setting for the latest shore competition where the 18 members landed 15 fish consisting mainly of flounders. G.Wellbum won the event with 3 flatties weighing 2lb 4.50oz ahead of Dave Collins with a solitary flattie weighing 1lb 9.50oz.

LYMINGTON & DISTRICT SFC: The fourth round of the pegged winter league series held at Avon beach produced a smattering of pout, rockling, whiting and silver eels with Mark Jones coming out on top with 8 fish weighing 2lb 5.75oz. Others: 2nd Andy Hopkins 2lb 1.75oz, 3rd Pete Tybinowski 1lb 12.50oz, 4th Colin Saunders 1lb 9.50oz, 5th Rowland Blomfield 1lb 8.50oz, 6th Ryan Hood 1lb 5.75oz, 7th Derek Smith 1lb 3.25oz.

NEW MILTON SFC: Flounders supplied most of the action during a roving shore fixture which Barry Samber including a fine specimen weighing 2lb 7.50oz in his 3lb 6.25oz catch. Bruce Samber was the runner-up with 2lb 0.25oz followed by Richard Vine and Simon Mapstone with 1lb 6.25oz & 4oz respectively.

SHIRLEY SAC: A large boat fixture held off the Needles produced a mixed haul of dogfish, whiting, conger and pouting, the event was fished to a points system with all the fish returned alive. Results 1st Adrian Mitchell 58 points, 2nd Andrew King 58, 3rd Ken Exall 27.
