RESIDENTS have failed to stop plans for a new off-licence in a village that already has three others.
Portsmouth magistrates granted a licence for H J Pharmacy to move its adjoining off-licence from Titchfield to Bridge Road in Park Gate.
One hundred residents signed a petition against the plans, which they fear will increase traffic problems and late-night noise.
Protesters were backed by Fareham Borough Council leader Sean Woodward, who said: "I hope that the successful applicant will take some note of the residents' concerns."
