Basingstoke's National League 3 South game at Weston-Super-Mare was postponed, as were the majority of the matches in this league and the upper London regional ones.

However, inactivity failed to prevent Basingstoke slipping to second from bottom in the table with Blackheath's 25-14 success against Westcombe Park taking them above Basingstoke.

Thanet Wanderers travelled to Havant but did not fancy the conditions, so the London 1 fixture was called-off only half an hour before kick-off despite Havant having used heaters to try and thaw a frozen patch in the lee of the stand.

Winchester's match at Guildford & Godalming did go ahead and Winchester moved out of the bottom three thanks a tense 28-26 victory. Winchester chairman, Paul Stallard reported: "Yes, the scoreline was that close and had it gone on another five minutes it may well have gone the other way. Luckily we showed the sort of grit we showed in the second-half last week against Havant and held on for the win. There were excellent performances from Andy Ashwin at scrum-half and Ben Sadowski, in only his second ever game at fly-half, plus solid performances by everyone else."

This was important because Winchester had front-row players sin-binned at key stages of the game. Steve Williams went eight minutes from the start and Adie Mort five minutes from the end, but the determined all-round display saw Winchester home.
