THIEVES made off with more than £1,600 worth of furniture from the back of a lorry at Hedge End while the driver was asleep in the cab.
Police said the raid happened between 7am and 7.15am while the driver was waiting in a car park at Charles Watts Way to deliver furniture to the Land of Leather store.
The raiders cut a cover on the lorry trailer to see what was inside and then forced a rear lock.
They got away with a three-seater sofa, a two-seater sofa and an armchair plus a matching set of a two-seater settee and chair. They also left other items on the ground nearby.
