Mainly Landscapes Salisbury Playhouse Gallery, January 25 to February 10
Stuart Jennings' depiction of Corfe Castle and its surrounding landscape is unlike any image of the historic area you will have come across before.
The impressionistic style of the painting and the use of rich, warm colours and shadowing creates a moody ambience no literal representation could hope to achieve.
He is just one of three artists featuring in Salisbury Playhouse's new exhibition this month.
Mainly Landscapes also showcases the work of young, local artist Angela Corben whose painting 'near Alderbury' is a striking splash of rich blues and greens, creating such a romantic, dream-like vision of the area that you could be forgiven for not immediately recognising it.
Completing the trio is veteran artist Jack Wright, a retired former lecturer who has worked in Southampton, Bournemouth and Poole. Now living in Cornwall, he has created many images of the area using strong colours and definite lines.
