PLANS to help boost West End businesses by giving the village centre a makeover have been approved.
Steps are being taken by Eastleigh borough council's town centre manager and the owners of the premises leased to stores Netto, In Excess and The Place to make improvements.
Initial plans drawn up have been given the backing of members of the council's Hedge End, West End and Botley local area committee.
Councillor Martin Kyrle said: "I am glad that progress is being made and to see that things are being moved forward between the town centre manager and the owners of the buildings."
It is also hoped the scheme will address concerns about vandalism blighting the village centre.
