A MAN who assaulted his wife and a teenager, was tired and drinking too much when he lost his temper, a court heard.
Robert Miller, 35, of Canons Barn Close, Portchester, pleaded guilty at Fareham Magistrates' Court to assault causing actual bodily harm to the youngster, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and assaulting his wife Deborah by beating her.
He was sentenced to two years' probation and ordered to attend a domestic violence programme by magistrates after they heard det-ails of the December 16 attacks.
Magistrates were told Miller had banged the youngster's head on a wall and tried to strangle his wife in two separate incidents on the same day.
Caroline Buust, mitigating, said Miller had been working from 3am every day in several jobs to support his wife and five children, but had been finding it difficult to cope.
"He had taken solace in drinking more than was good for him. "Because of the problems he lashed out when in situations he felt he could not control."
Miller was also ordered to pay £50 compensation to each of his victims.
