A HOUSEWIFE who fell asleep watching television in the early hours of Monday has a nasty shock to find a stranger in her living room.

"She was asleep on the sofa and awoke to find a man rooting around by the television," said Det Sgt Paul Taylor.

"She spoke to him then sprang up and grabbed hold of him. A scuffle took place and the man managed to grab hold of a Nintendo games console and threw the woman against the window.

"He then ran out of the back door taking the Nintendo with him."

The incident took place between 2am and 2.30am on the Winton Chase estate but the woman decided not to call the police until the morning. Her partner was asleep upstairs at the time of the attack.

The offender is described as being aged between 16 and 18 years of age, 5ft 2in to 5ft 3in tall with greasy dark or black hair.

He was wearing a 'Puffa' style jacket, light blue jeans and cream- coloured walking boots.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was shaken by the incident but otherwise unhurt.
