The first round of the Polemania qualifiers first round on Broadlands saw an unchallenged victory for Cormorants AC member Neil Tappin. He fished long pole at 14 metres down to the reed bed in peg 32 to take five carp and a few bits for 23lb 12oz on maggot over micro pellet.

Hansfords' Tom Stone finished second with 7lb 5oz, with Cormorants Team Sillybaits Steve Rochester third with 6lb 12oz and Hansfords' Chalkie White fourth with 5lb 3oz.

The Reelcare Winter Series on Longbridge featured some massive carp taken to the scales and which included the biggest recorded in a match on the venue at 20lb 10oz.

Cormorants Team Sillybaits' Steve Rochester fished big lumps of paste on the waggler in the margins for eight big fish for 76lb 7oz to win comfortably from peg 27.

Hansfords' Chalkie White finished second with 41lb 15oz, which included a 20lb 10oz ghost carp taken on the pole and corn from peg 6.

Dave Pool finished third with 37lb 12oz from peg 30 on a mixture of pole and feeder tactics with Cormorant team Sillybaits Graham Maton fourth with 27lb 8oz which included a 18lb ghostie. Willie Skipp, Kev Moulton and Chalky White all qualified for the Apri 15 final.

At the Cormorants Sweepstakes on Longbridge, Cormorant Team Sillybaits' Richie Yeo bagged 46lb 5oz of carp on the pole and maggot from unfancied peg 36 on the canal.

He comfortably scored from method feeder specialist Willie Skipp who took five carp for 36lb 11oz on his favourite feeder tactics.

Dave Hambridge was third with a cracking bag of roach, skimmers and tench for 35lb 10oz on the pole and chopped worm, with Mickey Hills fourth with three carp for 18lb 2oz.

l The final round of the Hansfords' Green Farm Winter Series saw Portsmouth angler Mick White take 10lb 13oz of small carp from peg 28 on canal three on corn over ground bait to win from Dave Parvin who weighed in 8lb 2oz. Hansfords' Tom Stone was third with 5lb 2oz.

In the series, Homestores Selects' Graham Tappenden won the league with 69 points from Tom Stone with 62 points and Dave Parvin with 59.

Ringwood & District's latest club match on Cranbourne Fruit Farm saw victory for Mick Bartlet who took 26lb 12oz of small carp. Ian Sampson was second with 19lb 3oz of small carp.
