A move to larger premises for Dallas Airmotive - aeronautical engine re-furbishment specialists - meant a fit out of an empty hangar at Hurn Airport, Bournemouth.

Part of the H & S Aviation group, Dallas Airmotive called in Romsey- based Spaceway following successful projects completed for other members of the group. When a planned move to a new location fell through the company decided to enlist Spaceway's help in ensuring another hangar at the airport would meet its requirements.

The empty building required a mezzanine floor, office partitioning, furniture and racking, ground floor workshops, a kitchen and

canteen area for staff. Spaceway worked to the customer specifications to ensure the new facility fit the bill.

Said Jon Dawes, facility manager: "We were planning to move to a new location but when that fell through at the last minute it was back to the drawing board. From the moment we called in Spaceway we found them quick and responsive. There were a few glitches which needed speedy redesign and it was all done very professionally.

"Two offices were divided into three and a mezzanine floor, new reception area and workshops

fitted for our engineers - it is all looking very smart."

Spaceway's Peter Upton said: "The whole project was completed within eight weeks. "We worked hard to make sure the work was completed within the time and cost restraints and was exactly what the customer required from their new space."
