POLICE investigating the murder of Lee Horrell have been questioning anglers and walkers who use the area where he was last seen alive.
The 24-year-old Portsmouth man disappeared on November 11, the same day that his white Ford Escort van was spotted at Hilsea Lido.
His body was found in a shallow grave at Upperford Copse in the Forest of Bere, near Wickham, on December 27.
He died from multiple wounds but police have not yet revealed how they were inflicted.
Detective superintendent Steve Watts, leading he inquiry, said: "We received some very useful information that has the potential to progress the inquiry.
"However, we still need more help from the public to find those that killed Lee in such a horrendous way and then dumped his body."
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who used the copse around the time of Mr Horrell's disappearance and the discovery of his body, former friends and associates and anyone who regularly uses the lido.
Anyone with information should contact the incident room at Fratton on 0845 0454545 or the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
