BOOKWORMS at a Hampshire school have impressed teachers with their love of reading.

Four-year-old Chandler's Ford pupils Catherine Drummond and Daniel Dey, from Woodhill School, in Brownhill Road, were presented with certificates after their outstanding achievement in the Ladybird reading scheme.

The pair, who started the scheme along with other classmates a year ago, have notched up a reading age of ten - an impressive six years ahead of their time!

Head teacher Marjorie Dacomde said: "These children are doing very well. We presented them with their certificates to give them encouragement.

"All children embark on the reading scheme but some have the potential to excel more than others, and these children have reached a reading age of ten at just four years old."

Romsey Conservative prospective Parliamentary candidate Paul Raynes was invited to the school to present Catherine and Daniel with their certificates after hearing them read.
