AFC Totton are counting the cost of a bruising midweek battle as the clock ticks down to towards tomorrow week's big FA Vase fourth-round tie against Chippenham Town.

Roger Maynard (foot), Dave Fear (knee) and Sean New (knee) all took a battering in Tuesday's 1-0 Jewson Wessex League defeat at Fleet Town, in which midfielder Stuart Ritchie missed a potential penalty equaliser.

By coincidence, Totton come face to face with fellow Vase heroes Brockenhurst at Testwood Park tomorrow but Fear, for one, will not be playing. James Sherrington is also on the doubtful list after being studded in the 3-0 New Year win over Eastleigh.

"If we could get a settled side we would be quite strong and formidable, but you're bound to suffer with so many enforced changes and that could come home to roost tomorrow," warned manager Ian Robinson, whose side had gone eight games unbeaten prior to the Fleet hiccup.

If it's any consolation to Totton, Brock will also be below strength with Nathan Bryant and Carlo Tate away on a ski-ing holiday. Mark Adams limped off with a twisted ankle in Tuesday's 2-1 home result over Moneyfields which made it 13 wins from their last 19 games.

Phil Stone, whose hot scoring form has reaped seven goals in his last two appearances, is available again after working away in midweek. But Brock are unsure of Bournemouth trialist Ben Thomson's availability and must decide whether to risk midfielder Jimmy Sheppard's sore knee.

"If there are any doubts over players we will probably rest them and I expect Totton will do the same," said assistant boss Chris Collinge, with one eye on Brock's last 32 Vase showdown against Taunton Town.

"In fact we might suggest a game of one-touch football with no tackling allowed," he joked. "We'd settle for a 0-0 draw or perhaps 5-5 if Totton want to bring a crowd in!"
