DETECTIVES are continuing their investigations after a woman was indecently assaulted in a phone box in Basingstoke.
The attack, on a local woman in her early 20s, took place at about 12.40am on Tuesday outside the One Stop shop in Stanford Road, Brighton Hill.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment but was later released.
Unusually for a case of this nature, The Gazette understands that officers are still to take a full statement from the woman.
Since the incident took place in a major residential area, officers are hopeful that local people heard or saw something suspicious at the time.
They are particularly keen to talk to anyone who may have seen a group of people in the area between midnight and 1am.
House-to-house enquiries were carried out on Tuesday afternoon while scenes-of-crime officers in the area searched for evidence.
Anyone with information should call Detective Constable Ben Snuggs, of Basingstoke CID, on 0845 045 45 45 or call the Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
