FIREFIGHTERS were called to the Royal Hospital Haslar, Gosport, after a pool of hydrochloric acid was found on the floor of an outbuilding.
The diluted acid, which can give off dangerous fumes, was found at around 6.30pm yesterday.
Two appliances from Gosport, one from Fareham and a special equipment unit from Copnor attended the spill and the crews spent a total of two hours diluting the acid and washing it away.
