THE America's Cup Jubilee, which will be staged in the Isle of Wight next summer, was officially launched at the London Boat Show this week and promises to be the largest ever big boat regatta in the UK.

First unveiled two years ago, the regatta will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the America's Cup and represents the entire history of the America's Cup Challenges with a fleet that will include many original yachts or their replicas. The stunning J-Class yachts, Endeavour, Velsheda and Shamrock, will all be in attendance. They will evoke images from the glamorous thirties and the 12-Metre Class, which raced for the Cup from 1958 to 1987.

There are expected to be between 25 to 30 boats in total, the largest collection of these yachts ever to race together.

There could also be up to nine of the current modern International America's Cup Class boats, including the winners from 1992 and 1995. In addition ,Vintage, Classic and Spirit of Tradition classes, along with a modern class, will be racing in a regatta that is open to members of the 48 clubs that have challenged for the Cup.

The America's Cup Jubilee, organised by the Royal Yacht Squadron and the New York Yacht Club in association with Louis Vuitton, will run from the August 19-25.
