A HAMPSHIRE mother-of-three died more than six months after being hit by a car in a road accident, an inquest heard.
Divorcee Caroline Sherley-Price was struck on the A337 between Lymington and Brockenhurst. The 43-year-old, of Southampton Road, Boldre, near Lymington, was taken to Southampton General Hospital after the accident on February 29 last year.
She died on October 5 from bronchopneumonia resulting from her head injuries.
Car driver Peter Ball, from Milford on Sea, gave a negative breath test after the accident and said he had not seen her early enough because it was dark and raining.
PC Gary Keable said: "Anyone crossing the road would have a far better view than any vehicles would travelling towards them."
Southampton coroner Keith Wiseman recorded a verdict of accidental death.
