POLICE detained two students following a fire at Southampton University halls of residence early today.
Fumes from an aerosol can were set alight in what is believed to have been a prank that backfired.
Flames destroyed a poster and damaged a wall in a communal corridor at the halls in Glen Eyre Drive, Bassett.
