ROMSEY MP Sandra Gidley has been appointed an ambassador for the Guide Association in a bid to recruit more adult leaders to the organisation.
Mrs Gidley received a special badge with 45 other appointees from the UK's political, business, arts and media world.
The Guide ambassador scheme is part of the Association's current national recruitment and promotion drive.
The campaign's aim is to recruit more adult leaders and to provide girls and young women with more opportunities to have fun and take part in new challenges.
Ambassadors are active supporters who spread the word telling others of 21st century Guiding activities.
The Guides chief executive Terry Ryall said: "The Guide Association is thrilled about Sandra Gidley becoming an ambassador..
"We are sure she will speak positively about Guiding to her friends and colleagues, to promote Guiding through her networks or to support Guiding by attending events."
