MILFORD Cricket Club, which has been playing on the village's recreation ground since 1895 (a long innings!) has been awarded a grant of £4,872 under the National Lottery's 'Awards For All' scheme.

The grant is to fund the building of two all-weather practice nets which will have artificial grass surfaces on a concrete base with heavy-duty side netting and poles.

The club has two Saturday teams of which the First XI plays in the HCCL West Division and the Second XI in the New Forest League Division 2.

There is also a midweek team for 20-over games and an occasional Sunday team.
