The growth of the New Forest Junior Athletic Club is gathering pace.

Founded in September last year, the club have just been accepted into the Southern Electric Wessex Young Athletes' League for the coming track and field season.

"This development will give youngsters under the age of 17 the chance to compete regularly at most events," said chairman Tim Wilding.

Any interested parents in the New Forest area can contact Wilding for more information on 023 8084 8914.

NFJAC, meanwhile, sent a small contigent to the Wessex League fixture at Hurn Bridge.

Rebecca Keeping (Lymington) was the sixth Under-15 girl home, while Aaron Newell (Dibden) marked his first competitive run-out with 31st position in the Under-13 boys' match.
