A MAN trapped under his four-wheeled drive buggy in a remote field near the Hampshire-Wiltshire-Dorset borders used his mobile phone to call for help yesterday.

Police, fire and ambulance crews dashed to the field off Townsend Drive at Martin Drove End, to the west of Fordingbridge shortly after 10am.

They found the man trapped with a broken leg and after being released by firefighters from Fordingbridge, he was taken to hospital with a broken leg.

A police spokesman explained that the man was crossing the field in muddy conditions to take feed to his sheep when the buggy overturned .
