SUNSEEKER International has sold five of its 105ft luxury motoryachts for a total of around £22.5 million after their debut at the Southampton International Boat Show last month.

Poole-based Sunseeker - the world's biggest independent boatbuilder - is the first manufacturer in the UK to build a yacht of this class in excess of 100ft for production.

The 105 Yacht displaces 90 tonnes when fully loaded. It has a top speed of 31 knots.

All five 105s are destined for the export market. Buyers include Jordan Formula One motor racing boss Eddie Jordan.

Two of the latest orders were created by international dealers who brought new clients to the boat show.

The two clients had not intended to purchase boats at the show but could not resist the 105 yacht.

Sunseeker joint owner and managing director Robert Braithwaite said: "We were extremely proud to be launching the 105 Yacht to such a great audience.

"She has been extremely well received by new and current clients internationally."

The show also saw the debut of the Manhattan 56 which was well received with orders for the next year ahead.

Sunseeker's current best seller is the Manhattan 64 with an 18-month waiting list.

The company currently employs around 1,000 workers at its sites across Poole.
