Havant & Water-looville have no intention of selling leading marksman James Taylor even though he is likely to be left on the bench for a third game running in the FA Cup at Dartford on Sunday (3pm).

Despite scoring eight goals in eight games, the 24-year-old Bitterne-based hotshot has been squeezed out by the impressive form of Isle of Wight youngster Jamie O'Rourke and seasoned campaigner Dave Leworthy.

But co-manager Mick Jenkins stressed: "James is a big part of what is going on here. We brought Dave Leworthy in to put pressure on both James and Jamie and the fact that we have three quality strikers at the club means that if one of them is below par, we can rest him.

"Last season we had no depth in the attacking department and although James was looking jaded at times we couldn't leave him out because we relied so heavily on him for his goals.

"Now we've got a stronger squad it means we can rest people and I'm sure James will come back a better player. We're pushing for a top-six Dr Martens Premier place and a cup run, so we'll use all our players in the long run."

Gary Connolly (ankle), Shaun Gale (ankle), Leworthy (eye) and Paul Wood are all expected to shrug off injuries to face a Dartford side struggling third to bottom of the DML Eastern Division.

Veteran former Saints defender Kevin Bond is on FA Cup standby for Salisbury City at Dorchester tomorrow.

The 43-year-old is ready to fill in should centre-back Roger Emms fail to recover from medial ligament damage.

"Kevin hasn't got the strength in his legs that he had at 23, but he does an awful lot of good things," said Whites boss Geoff Butler.

Striker Jimmy Smith is also doubtful with groin trouble, but midfielder Robbie Harbut rejoins the squad after a year out following a knee operation.

Dorchester will be looking to avenge an FA Cup defeat by the Whites two seasons ago but will be unable to use their two loan players - AFC Bournemouth forward Justin Keeler and Basingstoke Town 'keeper Vince Matassa.

The No 1 shirt will go to 20-year-old rookie David Elm, a summer signing from Swanage, who saved a penalty against Weymouth in the last round.

Owen Pickard and Matt Holmes, who missed Magpies' 1-0 defeat by Worcester last Sunday, are expected to be fit.
