TWO SOUTHAMPTON residents hoping the country won't be plunged into crisis again in mid-November when the trucker's 60-day deadline expires, are Kay and Dennis Rickman.

Both registered disabled and dependent on their car for shopping and getting around, the crisis caused them a great deal of stress and worry.

Kay, 67, who suffers from arthritis, said she feels the protesters did not take into consideration the disabled and elderly who are dependent on their cars.

The pensioner from Hardy Close, Locksheath, near Fareham, said: "It was a stressful time for us.

"The queues at all the garages were so long and many ran out of fuel quickly.

"I don't think the truckers took disabled people like us into consideration during their protest. She added: "I'm very worried about it happening again in 60 days - it will be the middle of winter then."

"We're not being selfish, but people like us suffer.

"When we got he chance to fill up we just took £8-worth - what we needed. Even the petrol attendant said that we could have had £20- worth, but we said we don't want to be greedy."

"My husband, Dennis who is recovering from a stroke, found the whole crisis quite stressful."
