Uwe Rosler is going into unchartered territory with Saints at Derby today.

Not only has he never played against the Rams, but he has never gone into a new campaign without scoring in pre-season.

The German striker has been desperately unlucky, doing everything but find the net as a succession of efforts have dropped inches off target.

But he is confident the goals will come when it counts and he knows there would be no better time to break his duck than on his Premiership debut for Southampton on a ground where they have always struggled.

In four visits to Pride Park they have not even managed a goal and Rosler said: "It is about time we put that right.

"I have never been a prolific scorer in pre-season but I have never gone through the build-up without a goal at all.

"However I have only played one full match and I have been a bit unlucky with some chances which have only just missed. I feel fresh and sharp and the finishing is coming on in training. My preparation has been good and I am not worrying about the fact I have not got a goal so far."

Today is a big day too for Saints stars John Beresford and David Hughes who launch their new fantasy league game on the internet.

It costs £10 to register as many teams as you want at www.bigmoneyleague.com and fans can bet against celebrities or against each other as well as playing the game which gives them an imaginary £100 million to spend on a squad of 17.

There is a weekly prize of up to £1,000 and a monthly one of up to £10,000 and players can pay £1.50 for a substitution or transfer. They can still join the game even after today's big kick-off.

Beresford said: "It is a very exciting venture for us and a bit of fun. It is something we dreamed up together when we were both out for so long with injury. We wanted to make it a bit different."

Newcastle fan Tony Taylor, who lives in Southampton but travels to every Magpies game home and away, will be providing the commentary on FanZone, the interactive option from Sky Sports Extra, for tomorrow's game between Newcastle and Manchester United.
