Portsmouth manager Tony Pulis is hoping to unveil new record signing Lee Mills to the home crowd against Grimsby at Fratton Park tomorrow.

Mills replaced former England Under-21 international Rory Allen in Pompey's record books a week ago when he completed a £1.2 million pound switch from Bradford and could have marked his debut at Sheffield United 24 hours later with a hat-trick.

The 30-year-old failed to find the target on that occasion but Pulis has no doubt that he will quickly repay his transfer fee and is hopeful he can give the Fratton faithful a glimpse of what is to come - providing he recovers from injury.

Mills was unable to train in the early part of the week because of a leg injury but resumed action today and is expected to take his place alongside Lee Bradbury in attack.

Pulis said: "Lee is the sort of player that this club needs if they are to lift themselves up in the top half of the table and get into a challenging position again."

He didn't have the best of luck in front of goal last weekend but the important thing was he got himself into scoring positions. He will get you 20-plus goals a season and I'm sure the supporters will take to him."

The Pompey boss will also give home debuts to midfielder Tom Curtis, a £150,000 signing from Chesterfield, and former Reading defender Linvoy Primus.

But the biggest boost for Pulis will come in the form of giant centre back Darren Moore who returns to defence following a four-week absence with hamstring trouble. Moore said: "The hamstring feels okay.

"I've done some explosive sprinting and it well and I'm now the fingers crossed that there are no setbacks before Saturday."

Meanwhile, Pulis is giving a trial to Trinidad defender Norman Mackay with a view to offering the defender a permanent move to Fratton Park.

Mackay, 27, made his debut for Portsmouth Reserves in the 3-3 draw at Brighton on Wednesday after a recommendation from West Ham boss Harry Redknapp.

Redknapp gave Mackay a trial at Upton Park but felt he was not quite up to the Premiership but tipped off Pulis saying he could make an impact in Division 1.
