LAWTON Communications Group, the South Coast's leading marketing communications agency, has been appointed by Bournemouth International Airport as its advertising agency, following a competitive pitch.

Lawton's won the business with a striking creative proposal that will be used to strongly position Bournemouth as the prime point of departure for the South's holiday and leisure travellers.

With a rapidly-expanding route network to a wide range of holiday destinations provided by leading tour operators such as Airtours, Libra and Palmair, Bournemouth is quickly gaining a reputation as the South Coast's principal holiday departure point.

Commenting on the appointment, Lawton's director Julian Gee said: "Bournemouth International Air-port has an excellent and growing operation. We will be making sure more people in the area know about it and can really benefit from how easy it is to fly Bournemouth."

Glyn Jones, airport managing director, said: "We saw some excellent work from the best agencies in the region but Lawton's all-round capability and creative proposals provided an excellent fit with our needs.

"We look forward to growing traffic and routes even further with them on board."
