THE HIGH Sheriff of Hampshire and the Mayor of Fareham put their best feet forward for charity.

Mayor Roger Price and High Sheriff Valentine Powell went on a coastal amble from Fareham's civic offices to Portchester Castle. The walk was one of a series organised by the High Sheriff to boost Hampshire charities including the Rose Road Children's Appeal, Wessex Heartbeat and the Lord Mayor Treloar Trust.

Mr Price said: "I'm looking forward to guiding Mr Powell along the coastline to the castle."

En route to the starting point, Mr Powell had walked along the Solent Way to Titchfield Nature Reserve.
