TREES on Eastleigh's town centre recreation ground, pictured, are to receive greater protection following the uproar when five healthy trees were chopped down.
They were felled to make way for a proposed dance garden that will be an outdoor extension of the town's art centre, The Point.
But the huge political backlash to the millennium project seems to be backed up by residents. We took to the streets to ask people what they thought about the plan, which will slice off another corner of the town's popular open space.
