A record number of runners took part in this year's Hampshire Chronicle Five-mile Road Race at Romsey.
Over 500 athletes entered the one-lap race which awarded both men's and women's individual and team prizes.
The men's race saw an exciting finish with Ronnie Adams, an unattached runner from Portsmouth, leading the field home in 25 minutes 05 seconds, just ahead of Southampton RC's Simon Plummer (25.07). Third was Michael Gregory of Andover AC (25.11).
Basingstoke and Mid-Hants AC scooped the first two places in the women's race. Victory went to Caroline Slimin in 29.34 with teammate Andrea Cameron runner-up in 29.54.
Third was Anne Buckley of City of Portsmouth AC in 30.10.
In the team event Overton Harriers took the men's prize with Basingstoke and Mid Hants winning the women's event.
