SMALL firms in Southampton are to get practical help to deal with business regulations.
The promise of quick access to the best sources of advice and information was given by John Denham, MP for Southampton Itchen to the Federation of Small Business.
"The new Small Business Service will be established next year and I share a vision of a service that hardworking, hard pressed business people can access by phone, letter, fax or e-mail.''
He says the new Small Business Service is also designed to give small businesses an effective voice at the heart of government.
"As a local MP, I'm determined to work with organisations like the service to make sure that it understands the needs of business in the South. Small businesses are at the heart of a successful and competitive economy.
He told the meeting that changes already envisaged for business regulations reflected the concerns of small business.
