A STINGRAY torpedo has arrived on target in Gosport - but there was no damage.
The torpedo has been donated by Marconi Electronic Systems as an important contribution to the borough council's armaments collection at the former Priddy's Hard Admiralty ammunition depot.
It will be one of the many exhibits to be displayed at Explosion - the new £3.5 million museum being created at Priddy's Hard.
The torpedo was accepted on behalf of the museum by the mayor of Gosport, councillor Ken Searle.
He said: "The story of the torpedo would simply not be complete without the one which has played such an important role in naval armaments in recent years."
The torpedo presentation was made by Peter Sanders, production operations manager of Marconi Electronic Systems.
