VILLAGERS will be able to let their hair down in an action packed week of carnival fun at Fair Oak.

The Fair Oak Community Association has lined up a wide-range of activities ranging from a car boot sale to a bumper carnival parade which will be headed by princesses Katy Meech, aged 12, and eight year-old Gemma Bailey. The fun starts on July 4. The diary of events is: Sunday July 4: Car boot and table top sale, Shorts Road between 2pm and 5pm. Sellers: £4 a car.

Monday July 5: Tea Dance at the village hall, Shorts Road, 3pm to 5pm. Music will be provided by the Wyvern Band. Tickets are £1 and refreshments will be available.

Wednesday July 6: Teddy Bear's Picnic, village hall, 12 to 2.45 pm. To include a children's entertainer. £1 per child. Tickets available on door.

Thursday July 8: Pet Roadshow, sponsored by Fairfield Veterinary Surgery, Fair Oak. To be held at surgery between 3pm and 5pm. Bring your animals in a secure cage for pro-fessional advice.

On the same day there is a Carnival Quiz Night at the Brook Social Club. Teams of six people. £5 a team. 7.30pm for 8pm start.

Saturday July 10: Carnival procession and fete. Procession moves off at 1pm from Dean Road. Fete will be held at Shorts Road Recreation Ground, including side shows, stalls and arena events. 7pm: Carnival Night in the Village Square, including live music, a DJ and a hog roast.

Sunday July 11: 10.30 am: Carnival Open Air Church Service.
