ZAC MORRIS hasn't exactly had heads turning this season but he could find himself providing Hampshire with a spinning alternative for Wales.

The younger of the Morris brothers could find himself heading across the Severn Bridge tonight towards Hampshire's PPP Healthcare County Championship match against Glamorgan if Hampshire feel the track at Swansea's St Helen's Ground is likely to play its usual tricks.

St Helen's is traditionally a twirly-men's paradise, and Glamorgan are likely to go with two in the shape of Robert Croft's off-spin and Dean Cosker's slow left-arm.

Morris has yet to feature in first-team action this season and, although not one of the original 12-strong party travelling today, is on standby to leave at the drop of a hat if he gets the call.

Despite Swansea being a track where spinners lick their lips, Hampshire welcome back seamer Peter Hartley. After his 11-wicket haul against his native Yorkshire at Basingstoke, Hartley was forced to sit out the Championship match against defend-ing champions Leicestershire at Southampton with a knee problem.

Hampshire missed Hartley's accuracy and control as Leicestershire ran up threatening scores and he's likely to return to the Hampshire attack and share the new ball with Nixon McLean.

Jason Laney will be looking to continue his good vein of form since returning to the First XI and after missing out on a century by just one run against Leicestershire is in determined mood to go on from that against a Glamorgan side who have made a patchy start to their championship campaign.
