SAINTS football legend Francis Benali and Wimbledon tennis wizard Chris Wilkinson have teamed up to try to boost British sport.

Twenty-nine-year-old Wilkinson, who announced his retirment from full-time professional tennis after bow-ing out of Wimbledon to Gustavo Kuerten last week, now wants to establish a production line of young players capable of taking part.

And Benali, who has been a friend of Southampton's former Davis Cup star since the two met playing football in the Southampton Tyro League nearly 20 years ago, helped him launch his new tennis academy at Bishopstoke Tennis Club yesterday. Full story in Thursday's Daily Echo.
