HE'S the one that she wants! And she's happy to part with serious sums of cash to get him.

Former Bros fan Anita Burt is so hopelessly devoted to idol Luke Goss she is splashing out nearly £1,000 to spend her summer nights with him.

The 80s teenage heart-throb is starring as Danny in the musical Grease at The Mayflower in Southampton - and Anita will be there for all of the 11 shows.

The 26-year-old management accountant from Cowes on the Isle of Wight said: "It's no different to going on a holiday really. It's something I want to do."

Anita was a big fan of Bros while a schoolgirl and now Luke has moved on to a stage musicals career she has continued to follow him.

She has spent £450 on two tickets for each performance and will be paying £18 a day for two return ferry trips from the Isle of Wight. On top of that she has to pay out taxi fares.

She has had to persuade members of her family to travel to see the show with her every night until July 3.

Anita has also acquired a large amount of Bros memorabilia and videos over the years.

"I've got hundreds of videos and cupboards full of stuff. It's cost me a fortune but I would pay anything for Bros things."

Anita who works for St Mary's Hospital on the Island, spent a week-end in London when Grease was playing to West End audiences and got to meet her idol Luke for the first time. She's now met him again in Southampton.

"He is really nice. He makes a point of talking to you. I could never have got to meet him when he was in Bros.

"He never used to sing when he was in Bros so it was great to find out in Grease what a brilliant voice he has."

Even though the Bros days are consigned to pop history, Anita has remained a loyal fan. "No one else can touch them," she said.
