Sir.-It appears that the household amenity centre in Wade Road is unable to accept trailers of rubbish for the next six months, due to major works taking place.
Would it be possible for Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to place skips at strategic points around the borough, particularly in the rural areas, until next spring?
This would preserve an essential service and minimise the risk of a fly-tipping nightmare.
Alternatively, could the collection of bulky items be derestricted and the £10 charge suspended until the works are complete?
