VT FC's Dave Diaper is tipping Christchurch to hit the heights this season - despite his team holding Priory to a 2-2 draw at Hurn Bridge last night inthe Sydenhams Wessex League Division 1.
"Christchurch have had some good results this season and I can see why," said Diaper after Christchurch had bounced back from two down to snatch a share of the points.
"They ping the ball around and have got a lot of pace," he said. "But fair play to our lads, we did ever so well and played to our strengths."
Mike Spinney headed the Boatmen in front after 15 minutes and then a questionnable offside decision against Spinney ruled out a second VT 'goal' for ex-Saint Kevin Gibbens.
Gibbens finally got on the scoresheet with a 60th-minute penalty and then Spinney had a another great chance which he planted wide.
Christchurch threw on ex-BAT striker Dave Roberts, who made it 2-1, and Priory equalised through another former Tobaccoman Matt Czastka with 12 minutes to go.
