THE new concessionary fares scheme which comes into being next year will be one of the most generous in Hamp-shire but will not offer the £60 in top- up vouchers for which some people had argued.

Members of Test Valley Borough Council's over-view and scrutiny committee had asked for the £60 but after hearing councillor Norman Arnell's view decided to follow the officer's recommendation and give £40 to those eligible.

From next year the scheme will offer all over 60s free bus travel in Hampshire or a railcard.
