WINCHESTER MP Mark Oaten will meet senior local supporters at a secret meeting this evening.
The executive committee of the constituency is gathering at an undisclosed location to talk to the MP, pictured.
The move follows the revelation of the former high-flying MP's six-month relationship in London with a male prostitute and his resignation as Liberal Democrat Home Affairs spokesman.
Constituency chairman Harvey Cole has refused to say where the meeting will be held. The 20-strong committee comprises city and county councillors as well as the chairmen of constituency wards.
In an newspaper interview yesterday, Mr Oaten said he was hoping to carry on as an MP but has not decided whether he intends to put himself up for selection as the candidate at the next General Election.
