SHE'S THE MAN (12A)
She's The Man hangs together by a gossamer thread thanks to the luminous Amanda Bynes. The screenwriters struggle to find a happy medium between the source text - Shakespeare's Twelfth Night - and contemporary sensibilities.
THE DARK (15)
Based loosely on the novel Sheep by Simon Maginn, The Dark is a supernatural thriller almost entirely devoid of shocks or scares. Maria Bello gives a lacklustre lead performance and Sean Bean's role is massively underwritten.
