STOCKBRIDGE'S Town Hall could be receiving a complete makeover - at an estimated cost of £600,000.
Parish council chairman David Baseley and village historian Dr Hugh Saxton believe the money is desperately needed to preserve and improve the building.
No major work has been done on the hall for 50 years and now paint is flaking off walls and cracks are appearing in the exterior brickwork.
Residents describe the building as a disgrace, despite it still being well used since it was built in 1790.
