SOUTHAMPTON City Council leader Adrian Vinson's job is on the line this week.
Liberal Democrat insiders say that he could face a leadership challenge from members of his own group at a crunch meeting due to be held today.
The burning question of who will lead Southampton, which is dominating city politics, follows Thursday night's historic council election result that left Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives evenly split with 16 councillors each.
Southampton's Lib Dem councillors will today be staging their annual meeting at Highfield Church in Highfield Lane to elect their group leader for the year.
Insiders have revealed to the Daily Echo that Councillor Vinson's tenure in power could be challenged for the first time since he became city council leader three years ago.
