A HAMPSHIRE supermarket has hosted a football competition in a bid to find the next Beck-ham, Owen or Walcott.
For three days staff at Asda in Fareham have run a Swerve and Score event which could see winners pitting their skills against the best from around the country.
Four youngsters, two boys and two girls, could be chosen to go through to the next stage and compete against other regional winners.
Trish Powell, spokesman for the Fareham store, said: "The competition was open to all seven- to ten-year-olds. We know there are a lot of young football fans in the area, and this competition was a chance for them to show their skills.
"You never know, we could have our very own future England star living here in Fareham."
