A LOCKS Heath woman has taken time out from her hectic television-watching schedule to run the Flora London Marathon and raise cash for charity.
Susan Lines, 46, fulfilled a lifelong ambition when she crossed the finish line in four hours 36 minutes, raising £700 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. But having now run the race, she has pledged to put her feet up and spend some time back in front of the telly.
Marketing officer at St Vincent College in Gosport, Mrs Lines, had been turned down for the race three times in the past before being accepted back in December.
She said: "It was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was amazing and I am so pleased and proud I managed to complete the course.
"However, it was very hard work and I can't say I truly enjoyed it. You are too focused on running to really take in the sights around you. When you're younger your body recovers more quickly, but at my age I am just grateful to have got around!"
