A TIMSBURY horticulturist and her husband were featured on BBC 2's Gardeners World last Friday night. Julia and George Benn met presenter Monty Don during the 30-minute programme - broadcast live from the Royal Horticultural Society's Malvern Show. Monty bought plants grown by the couple for the TV programme's specially created garden - Berryfields.

Julia from Test Valley Nurseries, said it was wonderful publicity for her business.

"He bought shade garden plants - tiarella, iron butterfly and white geraniums. Monty was really fantastic. To have our nursery mentioned on prime-time TV was absolutely fantastic, it's not very often you get this sort of opportunity.

It was the first time we did the Malvern Show. We were in the Garden Life Pavilion selling our cottage garden plants," said Julia, whose plants have scooped numerous awards at shows around the region. Gardeners World viewers will probably see Monty planting the Timsbury-grown flowers on tonight's programme.
