FOOTBALL: Dulwich suffered opening day blues after a 2-1 defeat at last season's Ryman Premier Division cup kings Basingstoke on Saturday.
The home side took the lead on the half hour through an Ian Mancey header. Dulwich fought back bravely and deservedly drew level minutes into the second half when the lively Richard Thompson collected a quick free-kick, went round the keeper and fired home.
But Basingstoke responded fast and their overall dominance was rewarded with a superb Derek Simpson winner 20 minutes from time.
